Theron was was normally up and meditating by now, but he'd had a bit too much of the spiked punch last night and was sleeping it off.

This was an excellent plan if you asked him. You know, if he wasn't sleeping and all.

Wincing, Theron rolled out of bed and stumbled over to the door to give the person extremely rudely banging on the door a piece of his mind.

Oh, that explained a lot. Dad was tiny, and it looked like he didn't even have any his implants yet.

Fascinated, Dessa reached out to poke at his smooth eyebrow.

Why was this strange girl poking at him?

"Hey!" He swatted at her hand. "Do you mind?"

Oh, right, if he was like this, he'd have no idea who she was.

"Hi," she said, dropping into an accent that sounded more like his than her own. Less questions that way. "...Dad."

Probably best to drop that proton torpedo right away.

...wait, what? Theron was having a lot of trouble processing this and he was pretty sure it wasn't just the hangover.

"Wait, what? Who are you?" And why was she calling him 'Dad' when she looked older than him.

"I'm Dessa. Dessa Shan." Because again, less questions than using Beniko would've raised. "It's a long story, but let's just go with the Force did it."

Because the Force occasionally being really weird was one of the few things Jedi and Sith philosophies tended to agree on, also it sounded better than 'there was a portal, and your guess is as good as mine'.

"What kind of a name is Dessa?" Theron asked, focusing on that, because he'd noticed the lightsaber and was in no way at all ready to have anything resembling a conversation about everything that implied.

That was a good plan, Theron, especially considering how...unorthodox her Force training was.

"One you came up with." Of course, there weren't really that many ways to shorten 'Odessen'. Mum was still plotting revenge in case she ever found out who exactly had filled in that datawork while she'd been out of it post-labour.
